Free online discussion

Every first Tuesday of the month: free online legal design thinking discussion

Ask your questions and share your insights on applying Legal Design Thinking. Where do you think Legal Design Thinking needs to be applied first? Do you have examples of interesting cases? Or do you have questions why Legal Design Thinking might be relevant to you and want to get insights on concrete subjects?

Introduction to Legal Design Thinking

Each month we will organize 1-2 introduction workshops to Legal Design Thinking, to get familiar with this new approach. We will focus this introduction on privacy and privacy statements, to really get hands-on with Legal Design Thinking. Within the community we will organize workshops and discussions on the broader application of Legal Design Thinking and discuss case studies. The topics will be related to human rights, since the mission of Visual Contracts is to bring the law closer to laymen, and empower people to practice their rights.

The workshops will be highly interactive and creative, i.e. making use of prototyping, visual thinking and other design thinking methods to stimulate creativity and empathy within the legal field. For now we focus on Dutch professionals, lawyers and designers, however as soon as possible also English workshops will be held.

Why should I attend this workshop?

  • You think access to justice needs to be more human friendly
  • You think the legal field is ready for innovation and a human centered approach is very much welcome on top of all legal-tech innovations

Co-create a new tool for the community

Since the best products come from collaborating with people with different views, we invite our members to brainstorm with us on creating a tool to support legal design thinkers to make the law more understandable and affordable. Although at Visual Contracts we think template builders are not necessarily helping people to understand how they deal with legal topics, the part of automation and efficiency leads to cost reduction, which is also a way to make legal services more accessible. So, we started on a concept for our platform, which we will further co-create with our community.

Legal Design Hackaton

Measuring the impact of our community efforts is an important part of how well we do on improving the accessibility of law. For this event we invite consumers and citizens to test our concepts and improve them via co-creation sessions. We will also present the impact the community made this year.
