Visual Contracts is shortlisted for the European Youth Award

We are proud to announce that we are short-listed for the European Youth Award (EYA). EYA is a pan-European contest to motivate young people, social entrepreneurs and start-ups to produce digital projects that will have an impact on society. Visual Contracts is short-listed in the Active Citizenship category. This confirms our believe: human friendly, transparent and easy to use and understand contracts do have a positive impact on active citizenship.

Young European citizens are challenged to summit a project that demonstrates their potential to create innovative solutions with Internet and Mobile technology addressing the goals defined by the Council of Europe and Europe 2020 as well as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our project empowers laymen all over Europe to be more aware, to understand and to practice their rights. Traditional contracts are written by lawyers for lawyers, instead of being easy to understand for those who need to use them. Design thinking and visualisation are essential tools to make contracts more human friendly, pro-active, transparent and easy to use and understand for anyone. Visual Contracts aims that by 2025 Legal Design Thinking is 'the standard' in the legal practice. And therefore the majority of all the contracts are easy to use and understand by laymen.

Our listing is the first step towards the award ceremony on December 1st in Graz. We passed the first round, in which an online jury reviewed our application. In the next couple of weeks another jury will review the projects and shorten the list to three or five project per category. If we will pass that round as well, we will be invited for the onsite round in Prishtina Kosovo. One to three projects per category will be selected as the #EYA17 Winners. At the Gala of the EYA festival in Graz the category winners and the European Digital Champion (Overall Winner) will be announced.

For now we are really proud! And want to thanks EYA for recognizing us a changemaker.
